Chloe Cox ’24

What is your favorite childhood memory and why?

Cox- Traveling across the country and to numerous national parks with my family. Not only are the destinations we have gone to incredibly beautiful, but the time spent with my family I wouldn’t trade for the world.

What was your favorite sport growing up and did it contribute to what sports you play in high school?

Cox- My favorite sport to watch has always been professional football, but I have always most enjoyed playing lacrosse. This majorly influenced my high school lacrosse career, and I hope to continue playing club lacrosse in college.

Which college are you thinking about attending?

Cox- I am thinking about attending Purdue University because of their tremendous engineering program and ideal proximity to home and my family.

When you leave Cathedral, what do you want to be remembered for?

Cox- I want to be remembered for my contributions to the lacrosse team as well as to the school academically. I have put countless hours into being my best student and athlete here, and Cathedral has truly been the catalyst for that journey.

If you could meet one person dead or alive who would it be?

Cox- I would like to meet Taylor Swift. This is self explanatory, she’s awesome.

If you could redo anything in your life what would it be?

Cox- I would have challenged myself earlier on in high school because I’ve grown to realize that I can truly rise to any goal I set my mind to.

What is your favorite class at Cathedral?

Cox- AP Chemistry and Women in STEM.

How many sports do you play at Cathedral and which is your favorite?

Cox- I play both varsity golf and lacrosse at Cathedral. I absolutely adore both teams, but I definitely tend to favor lacrosse, mostly because I am not very good at golf. I love lax.

Who are the most influential people in your life?

Cox- My mother has been extremely influential in my life. She is a hardworking breadwinner in our family, and has shown me the importance of supporting one’s family and also being a present parent.

What career do you wish to pursue out of college?

Cox- I hope to pursue a career in biomedical engineering, with a focus on engineering advanced prosthetic devices for disabled athletes and others.

Do you wish to continue your athletic career out of high school?

Cox- I plan on playing club sports in college for social and exercise purposes, but I do not plan on playing on a collegiate competitive team.

What advice would you give to freshman year Chloe?

Cox- I would tell my freshman self to push myself more earlier on. I was capable of much more than I gave myself credit for, and if I had pushed myself I could have exceeded my current limits, both academically and athletically.

What is your dream?

Cox- My dream is to have a successful career and have a good work-life balance in order to raise an ambitious and happy family.

What is your favorite book?

Cox- The Giver by Lois Lowry. It’s set in a future world where all pain and emotion has been eliminated, one boy is granted the ability to see the past, and the truth, of human reality.

How has attending cathedral changed your life?

COx- I have met the most incredible friends, teachers, and coaches at Cathedral high school, and I know I will have all of these people to depend on for years to come.

What is your passion outside of school?

Cox- My passion outside of school is to be active and explore. Activities such as hiking and traveling fulfill my interests in seeing the world while also being physically active.

What is your favorite country to visit?

Cox- The country I would most like to visit is the Netherlands. There is so much rich history as well as cultural advancements that interest me there.

Name a few items on your bucket list.

Cox- I want to visit all 50 states before I turn 21- I’m almost there. I would also like to travel to every continent at least once.

What is your favorite thing to do after an exhausting day of school?

Cox- Read a book or watch trashy reality TV with my mom.

What is an interesting fact that people should know about your family.
