What college did you attend and why?

Lewis- I attended Marian College for my Undergraduate and Marian University for my Graduate. 

Did you do any activities in high school and if so, what were they?

Lewis- Girl Scouts, and I did tons of babysitting. 

What was your favorite college memory and why?

Lewis– The memory that makes me laugh the most is when I was fined $75 on the last day of freshman year. Turns out, you are not supposed to throw a coconut out your window.

What has been your favorite vacation? Please describe it.  

Lewis- A few years ago, my family road tripped around the British Isles. We camped in Northern Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, and Ireland. We spent our days hiking and swimming. It was lovely.

What traditions does your family have? Please describe them.  

Lewis- Every night during the month of November, we write on a pumpkin the things we are thankful for. Fun fact, the first thing on the pumpkin this year was Squishmallows. 

Who are the most important people in your life and why?

Lewis- My family, for sure. I have a wonderful husband, two awesome students, amazing parents, and decent siblings. They all support me in different ways. 

What is something you have done that you are most proud of  

Lewis- A few years ago, I hiked 26 miles in two days with my friend Kelly and my daughter, Avie. It was tough but very memorable and I’m glad we did it. Last year, I hiked 100 hikes in a year which was also quite challenging but so worth it.

If you could go back in time to when you were 18, what advice would you give yourself and why. 

Lewis- Don’t be afraid of change.

What is your favorite movie and why? 

Lewis- Now and Then. It was such a staple of my early formation.

What was your favorite subject in high school and why? 

Lewis- First of all, please know that I am the product of a public school education. But, my favorite class was Advanced Cooking 2. 

In an alternate universe, what career would you choose and why?

Lewis- I would be a travel photographer. I love to travel and take photos.

What brought you to Cathedral and why?

Lewis- My friend Zac worked here. He was leaving for Law School and recommended Cathedral interview me. I interviewed at Cathedral and another school on the same day, and left Cathedral knowing I wanted to be here.

What is the funniest story you have?

Lewis- One night I made dinner for my friends and one of my friends took my phone without me realizing it. Later I had a theology class and in the middle of class, a phone started ringing in the professor’s jacket that he had hanging on the back of a chair. Confused, he pulled it out, and I instantly realized that my friends had put it there as a joke, thankfully the professor thought it was hilarious as well.

What is your favorite country to visit and why?

Lewis- I have been incredibly lucky to be able to travel a lot. Ireland is like a second home to me, Scotland is jaw-droppingly gorgeous, and the people in Tanzania were so kind and hospitable. 

If you could do one thing for the rest of your life what would it be and why? 

Lewis- I would continue hiking and seeing the beauty of nature.

What is at the top of your bucket list and why?

Lewis- To visit every continent. 

How important is your faith to you?

Lewis- Incredibly. It’s what brought me to Cathedral and helps me orient my life.

What were you most known for in high school?

Lewis- Probably for my service work with Girl Scouts. My troop built a low challenge course at a local park and we were in the newspaper regularly for it.

What is your favorite aspect of your job and why?

Lewis– Building relationships with my students and getting to know how they work.

What is one thing you want people to know about you? 

Lewis- That My New Year’s Resolution absolutely shapes my entire year.
