During the game last year against Franklin Central, a 4-0 Irish win, Cade Conlon ’21 makes contact.

After a very successful season last year in which they went 24-5-2 before losing to Mount Vernon in the Regional, the baseball team is ready to begin their season. The team lost ace starting pitcher Chris Gallagher and starting center fielder Camden Jordan, among other players, but will return some key talent from last year’s team.

Senior pitcher Dylan Haslett, an Oakland University committ, will return along with senior pitchers Nick Bassi and Ben Gomez. Senior and George Washington commit Alexander Wright will return in the outfield, along with junior Carson Johnson. Juniors David Ayers and Kyuss Gargett return in the infield with sophomore and Virginia Tech commit J.T. Stiner at catcher.

Coaches: Head Coach Mr. Ed Freije ‘99, Mr. Jeremy Sinsabaugh, Mr. Austin Green, Mr. Brian Johnson, Mr. Greg Smith, Mr. Paul Mpistolarides

Upcoming: The team will play their first game at Noblesville on March 28 at 6 p.m. They follow it up with their first home game against North Central on March 30 at 5:30 p.m. and a doubleheader at Bloomington South on April 2 at 12 p.m and 2 p.m.

From Coach Freije: “The Fighting Irish will look to continue to compete on a high level throughout the season in order to make a strong tournament run. The Irish will look to build around five returning starters and a solid group of returners while continuing to develop young talent to grow around them, especially on the mound.”
