During the varsity basketball team’s 66-33 win over University on Nov. 16, junior Nya Huff (hidden behind her teammate), freshman Abby Beasley (11) and senior Gabby Gay (2) play some wicked defense.

The women’s basketball team kicked off their season with a win against Covenant Christian. The team then dropped two straight games by a combined five points, losing to Brownsburg 33-31 and Warren Central 49-46, before bouncing back with a win against University 63-33.

Junior Layla Gold and senior Katie Bremer have been doing the bulk of the scoring through four games, combining for 100 of the team’s 143 total points.

Upcoming games: The team will travel to Bishop Chatard on Nov. 24 for a matchup with the Trojans beginning at 7:30 p.m. They will compete in the Brownsburg Showcase on Nov. 27, where they will face off against Bolingbrook (Illinois).

From Head Coach Mrs. Lisa Finn: “The Lady Irish are off to a good start this season. We are excited to see the progress of this team. They have a lot of talent, have some size across the board, and can score in a lot of different ways. We have all the pieces to be really special.”
