The annual Catholic Schools Week event kicks off Feb. 1.

Despite Covid-19 protocols that will limit the celebration, Catholic Schools Week and Winterfest will take place Feb. 1 through Feb. 5.

Religion teacher Mrs. Katie Lewis wrote in an email the event organizers “are having to think outside of the box” for this year’s event.

One specific activity that has changed due to Covid is the carpool karaoke, which has morphed into golf cart karaoke to allow for open air and more social distancing.

Another activity that has been affected by the new schedule and Covid is the distribution of hot chocolate during flex, which will not occur this year due to the lack of flex in the schedule as well as for sanitation concerns.

The themes are each day will be Feb. 1, bring your pet or a guest to Zoom; Feb. 2, groutfit; Feb. 3, onesies and comfies (robes, snuggies, pillow pets and PJs); Feb. 4, holiday PJs; and Feb. 5, Irish PJs and spirit wear.

She also provided her suggestions to students and teachers. “My advice would be same as any other week. Wear masks, stay home if you’re sick and wash your hands,” Lewis wrote. She also wants students to dress up and enjoy the themes, she said.
