Four staff representatives from Cathedral recently attended the National Blue Ribbon Ceremony in Washington, D.C. on November 3rd and 4th.

These staff members included Co-STEM Director Dr. Aarti Brooks, President Dr. Rob Bridges, Principal Julie Barthel and Vice Principal for Academic Affairs Mark Matthews. This event welcomed all recipients of the 2022 Blue Ribbon Award to Washington, D.C., and the ceremony was held at the Hilton.

Cathedral High School is now a four time winner of this prestigious award.

Dr. Aarti Brooks and countless others worked rigorously towards receiving this. She said, “[the awards] started out by congratulating everyone as a group, but then they called everyone up individually by school. They sat us by state, and so all the Indiana schools were sitting at tables.” Her and the others stayed throughout the entire ceremony and were able to see all schools receive the award. They were also able to take a picture with the Head of the Blue Ribbon Committee as well as other photos.

Brooks is grateful to be a recipient of this award, as well as to be given the opportunity to attend the ceremony. Brooks said, “The fact that we were able to attend on behalf of the entire school was exciting.”
