After five years with the women’s golf team, Mr. Mike Miller has announced his retirement as the squad’s head coach. Though he will no longer be with the women’s team, Miller will continue to serve as an assistant coach for the men’s golf team, according to information released by the athletics department.

During his time coaching, Miller said he greatly appreciated the opportunity to work with this year’s Senior Class. In an email, Miller wrote, “I had a special relationship with all the seniors from this year’s team, but more specifically the appreciation I had for the opportunity to be around Sophia Alexander, Maddie Dittoe and Sydney Hruskoci, who worked extremely hard during their four years.

“They were an absolute pleasure to coach and were great players, but even better people. Those three along with Piper Klika’s improvement made this season really enjoyable. I was proud to be their coach.”

Over the past four years, the women;s team won three All-Catholic championships, four City championships, four Sectionals and one Regional. The Irish finished the 2017 season 10-0 in dual matches.

At this point, according to Athletics Director Mr. Doug Seagrave, applications for the position are being accepted only from current Cathedral faculty and staff.
