Matthew Roth ‘29 and Violet Fortner ‘29 gather with their fellow teammates following their 2026 Judge’s Award win at VEX IQ World Championships. The championship was held in St. Louis, Missouri from April 21st to 30th. The team competed in a middle school level championship. Roth and Fortner are preparing to move to the high school level at Cathedral. Roth said, “My goal for next year is to bring Cathedral to State, something we haven’t done in awhile.”

Headed into the Final Stretch
Junior Quinn Valentine poses in her Texas sweatshirt with her horns up in front of Eagle Creek. Quinn has looked at many top ranked D1 schools. Quinn said, “Texas has been my dream school since I first joined and it’s such a privilege to call myself a Longhorn.”
Here Comes Texas
Cathedral students smile together taking in the scenery of Browning, Montana during their service trip. Outside of their school work, students spend time bonding and reflecting on their experiences. The experience created memories and friendships among the group.
Seven Women, One Mission
One of the emotional leaders of the team, Kaiden “Tuna” Martin ‘26, brings both energy and personality to the pitch. Known for his hard hits and even bigger presence, Tuna has become a tone-setter for the Irish. “Coach always tells us rugby is a game of heart,” Martin said. “You can be tired, you can be sore, but if you’ve got heart, you’re still dangerous. That’s what we try to play with every match." 
No pads, No fear
Class of ‘26 poses with the Class 3A State Championship Trophy following their historic win at Purdue University. The team defeated Hanover Central Wildcats 5-4. Feckzo said, “Winning the state championship last year showed us exactly what it takes to get there, and how much effort every single person on the team has to give.”

Quinn Braun is a senior at Cathedral High School. He is a member of the Men’s Volleyball Team, DECA, and High School Hustle. When not at Cathedral, Quinn enjoys photography, lifting, and traveling for club volleyball. Quinn won a statewide entrepreneurial competition this past summer.
