Cathedral Irish Adrenaline Show Choir kicked off their season with two competitive performances at Edgewood High School and Carrol High school in Fort Wayne, over two weekends the group traveled, competed, and brought home major awards,
At their first competition at Edgewood High school, Irish Adrenaline performed their full set and immediately made an impression. The girls earned first runner up overall, along with individual awards that highlighted the strength of the team.
Senior Klaire Kirkpatrick won the solo competition and was also named the best Soloist for the show choir group. Senior Alexandera Glenn was awarded best performer for her standout stage presence and confidence.
“It felt very unexpected but very rewarding in the end knowing that I got the chance to be recognized, especially since it’s my last year in show choir,” Glenn said.
Throughout January, the girls rehearsed after school until 9pm, balancing homework with intense choreography, and vocal practices. Those long nights prepared them for their second competition at Carroll High school in Fort Wayne, where the team traveled and stayed overnight.
At Carroll, Irish Adrenaline competed in the large division against strong groups, including Franklin Central High School’s show choir called High Voltage. The division was highly competitive and pushed the girls to perform at their highest level.
Freshmen Carlee Long ‘29 said being part of such competitive performances was an exciting experience. “As a freshman it was really exciting to compete at that level!” Long said, “Everyone pushed each other to be better and even though it was competitive, I felt like we were growing closer as a team.”
By the end of the night, Irish Adrenaline earned best vocals and placed first runner up overall. Franklin Central took home best choreography. Alexandera Glenn ‘26 was once again named best performer, making her second consecutive weekend claiming that award. Lilah Hern ‘26 also earned recognition, winning best soloist for the show at the Carroll competition.
With two competitions completed and multiple awards earned, Irish adrenaline has started their season strong and continues to build momentum!
