Mens’ Basketball

The boys’ basketball team takes on North Central tonight in the second round of the Sectional tournament. The team was lucky enough to draw a bye in the first round, giving the team more time to prepare and study its opponents strategies.

Head Coach Mr. Jason Delaney and his team have been preparing all year for this tournament, “You don’t go into it with the mindset of playing in the Sectional, but rather to win the Sectional,” said Delaney.

There are only nine Sectional championships in the school’s history and Delaney hopes to add a 10th this year.

The boys have had almost two weeks off between the regular and postseason to train and study film of their opponent, according to Delaney. The Irish take on the Panthers for the first time this season tonight at 7:30 at North Central.
