Senior Andrew George, also known as Big Red, is the ultimate volleyball super fan and has been cheering on the Irish for the past four years. He’ll get another chance to do so on Oct. 26 when the Irish take on New Castle at noon in the Regional, which will be played at Greenfield-Central High School.

With the fall sports season coming to an end, George now sets his sights on the winter athletic schedule.

He said, “So, I’m going to be the team manager for the (women’s) basketball (teams). I’ll be running warm ups, helping with drills during practices and cheering everyone on like I do for volleyball, but I’ll probably have to quiet it down now that I’m on the bench. I just want to play a supportive role on the team.”

George has a desire for a victory. “I have very specific goals for this program. I want to beat (Bishop) Chatard again, I want to win City, which means beating Heritage Christian and win a Sectional game. I want to build a similar culture to (the) volleyball culture, working hard to get things done.”

George said this is his last chance to cheer for his beloved Irish, and he plans to take every opportunity to do so.
