Men’s lacrosse returns several key starters from last year’s State Finalist team.

After an 11-11 season and a State Final Four finish, Mr. Andy Gruber is hoping to repeat last season’s success again this spring.

Gruber is joined by varsity assistant coaches Mr. Ryan Haas, Mr. Sam Hill and Mr. Kyle Mates.

The captains include senior goalie Stuart Gomez, senior midfielder Richie Krolewski, and junior Matt Dennen. Senior Tanner Dunwoody has committed to play at Lindenwood University in the fall.

Gruber said in an emailed interview that the squad currently playing has returned from last season with much enthusiasm.

“Although we made it to the State Final Four, losing by two goals to the eventual State champion, Hamilton Southeastern, it was seen as a difficult year for the program, which had previously won back-to-back State championships. The 2019 team seems to have returned to form. It is a deep and talented team led by a great Senior Class. The 2019 team is looking for a strong season, playing the top competition in Indiana and the Midwest.”
