The winter storm may affect the men’s basketball City tournament schedule on Jan. 19.

The men’s basketball team is scheduled to play Cardinal Ritter at Arsenal Tech at 6 p.m. on Jan. 19 in the semifinal round of the City tournament. But the impending winter storm may alter that schedule.

According to an email by Arsenal Tech Athletics Director Mr. Don Newberry, there is a contingency plan in case of inclement weather for semifinal games on Jan. 19. “If it happens to be a white out, all semifinal games would be moved to Monday, Jan. 21,” he wrote in an email. The JV tipoff times would be scheduled at 2 and 3:30 p.m, with the varsity semifinals at 6 and 7:30 p.m. This would then move the championship game to some other time later in the week.

In the email, Newberry wrote, “We will work diligently to coordinate a contingency for the City finals based off the earliest common date open for the remaining four team.”

Along with the Irish, the City Final Four are Cardinal Ritter, Crispus Attucks and Howe. Earlier in the season, the men played Howe and won 78-67.
