Varsity men’s tennis beats North Central 3-2

Win over the Panthers is the first for the Irish in 10 years

For the first time in 10 years, Head Coach Mr. Mark Noe’s varsity men’s tennis team has defeated North Central. The Irish won 3-2 on Sept. 14.

Senior Andrew Davey won Number-3 singles 6-0, 6-2, with sophomore Sam Black and senior Alex Pohl capturing Number-1 doubles 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 and senior Eli Carroll and senior Parker Ballew winning Number-2 doubles 6-3, 6-2.

In an email, Noe wrote, “This is a big win for the program and the team. I am proud that their hard work is paying off. I am excited, but now we have to regroup and prepare for big matches against several ranked teams coming up. It’s not quite time to celebrate yet.”
