Ben Kauffman is a member of the junior class and is a reporter for the Irish Connection. Ben is interested in telling stories about the Cathedral Irish athletic teams. Ben is a member of the Irish Golf team. Outside of Cathedral, Ben plays golf and enjoys watching sports with friends. After Cathedral, Ben hopes to continue covering stories around the sporting world.

Cathedral Boys Golf finished fifth at the Yorktown Invite. Cathedral was led by three juniors, Ben Kauffman, Johnny Leaman, and Sam Kinnett helping the team finish fifth. “The depth of our roster allows for a very competitive practice environment which helps build strong character traits. We have a unique opportunity to compete within our team weekly to define who will qualify for Invitationals and Tournaments. This routine and highly competitive experience is helping create an even stronger team bond and helps prepare players for the strong competition ahead in future play."

The Cathedral boys 2025 baseball schedule from MaxPreps.com. The Irish will start their season in Illinois over spring break. Students should come support the team as much as they can and Coach Freije said, “We'd love to have continued, increased student support for our guys! Like many of our students who are working hard in co-curriculars, our guys would love the support and enthusiasm when they take the field to compete. We have a beautiful facility at Brunette Park and it would be great to have our fans/students out in the sun supporting our guys.”

The Golden Paddle Invitational has been narrowed down to two; Class of 2026 Braden Mann and Class of 2025 Nick Whitley. The championship match will be played to at the beginning of the Faith Fest Assembly. Junior Braden Mann said, “I can’t wait for the final after I’ve just missed the last two years. I’ve been ready for a chance to win and for my walkout to the table.”
