Favorite Christmas Movie: “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”
“Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before! What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!”
We could all learn a thing or two from the Grinch and that is why “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” is my favorite Christmas movie there ever was. Sure, he teaches us that yes, eyebrows really do make a difference and yes, your dog will love you no matter how ugly you are, but he discovers the true meaning of Christmas and enlightens us all.
This man, well this creature, is one stone cold, heartless beast at the beginning of his story, but through pure chance he meets a girl who warms his heart and teaches him how to love. Moral of the story is: women can fix anything, even a grumpy, grouchy Christmas hater. No, I am kidding (not really), as the moral of the store lies within this quote from Dr. Seuss’s original children’s book, “Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before! What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!”
And this, my friends, is what makes this movie so great. This green garbaging-eating monster discovers love and the true meaning of Christmas; that it’s more than the gifts that you give you and you get, it’s about something more. Christmas is about celebrating the people in your life and sharing this stunning holiday with them, or if you’re religious, it is about the birth of Christ; either way Christmas is about celebrating life and love with one another.
“How the Grinch Stole Christmas” is my favorite Christmas movie because it never fails to make me laugh, but it also provides me with hair inspiration from Cindy Lou Who and reminds me that Christmas is more than gifts and trees, it’s love.
