The women’s varsity basketball team will open Class 4A Sectional tournament play on Feb. 5 against Crispus Attucks. The Indiana High School Athletic Association announced the pairings on Jan. 26.

Head Coach Mrs. Lisa Finn said, “We are excited about the post season. Our difficult regular season schedule will benefit us for the tournament. It is not secret that our Sectional is one of or the toughest in the state. We will begin preparing after we finish up our regular season this week to helpfully put our team in the best position to have post-season success.”

The Irish defeated Attucks 86-28 on Nov. 20. Other teams in the Sectional include Arsenal Tech, Lawrence Central, Lawrence North, North Central and Warren Central.

The Irish enter the final week of the regular season with a record of 13-8, with their next contest at Carmel on Jan. 28. The junior varsity tips off at 6 p.m. followed by the varsity at 7:30.
