Spirit shop gears up for Christmas
Annual open house is Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon
As Christmas approaches, the spirit shop gears up for the holiday rush. Located in the Kelly Hall basement in the back of the cafeteria, the spirit shop offers a wide variety of new items. Mrs. Sarah Rogozinski, manager of the spirit shop, provided an overview of the store and its inventory.
“We have some new hoodies coming in, we have long sleeve T-shirts, a lot of beanie caps and scarves,” Rogozinski said about what will be among new apparel for the cold winter weather. The option to personalize items is also available in the spirit shop. By coming in and making sure the item is available, special requests can be made and embroidered.
As for possible Christmas gifts, the spirit shop offers a wide variety of knick knacks and decorative items. Rogozinski said, “We have mom, dad, and grandparent mugs, so that might be a fun, popular item.” Sticking on car decals is one way to show support for the Fighting Irish.
Another way is to stay warm with a soft fleece blanket. Even when headed to a football game, the spirit shop sells stadium chairs and thermal beverage tumblers to keep the fans comfortable and warm.
On Dec. 2, the spirit shop will start preparations for Christmas immediately after Thanksgiving break.
On Dec. 7, the annual spirit shop open house is from 9 a.m. to noon and on Dec. 14, breakfast with Santa from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
