In continuing the school’s longstanding tradition celebrating its Catholic identity, the annual senior Mass has been scheduled for Dec. 2.

This tradition provides the seniors an opportunity to come together alongside their classmates and peers to celebrate the Mass with other Catholic schools. All Catholic high schools that are officially recognized by the Archdiocese of Indianapolis will attend, including Bishop Chatard, Roncall and Cardinal Ritter.

Like last year, the Mass will take place at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Brownsburg. Archbishop Charlest Thompson will be among the celebrants.

Mrs. Charlene Witka, the director of campus ministry, said she is excited to continue one of the school’s many faith-based traditions. “I think that our senior Mass is a wonderful tradition, because it brings all of the Catholic high schools together to celebrate our faith as one,” she said. “It is a great witness of the universal church.”

Witka helps organize the senior Mass every year and plays an instrumental part in figuring out the logistics that make such an event.

On the day of the Mass, seniors have been instructed to wear their uniform pants and a Cathedral shirt or sweatshirt, which means no college sweatshirts. After attending their alpha period as normal, the seniors will then be dismissed to load the busses and leave for St. Malachy. Upon returning to school, they will be dismissed for the day.
