Evans Scholars offer golf caddie scholarship
Counselor provides information via email
Working a summer job can provide a life-changing opportunity that includes a full tuition scholarship to Indiana University or Purdue University.
According to information in an email from college counselor Mr. Terry Knaus, the Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship is awarded to golf caddies with strong academic records and outstanding character. Any male or female at least 14 years of age can caddie and be paid for doing so. Candidates must be a golf caddie for at least two summers before their senior year of high school and must have financial need.
Knaus’s email mentions that this scholarship is one of the best kept secrets in America. Since 1930 the scholarship has sent around 10,000 students to college for free with 985 currently in school.
This summer job allows teens to be paid for their work and be given a chance to go to college for free by showing great work ethic.
