Mrs. Reggen Melsen, who served as the women’s varsity basketball head coach the last two seasons, will not be rehired for the 2019-2020 school year, according to Athletics Director Mr. Rick Streiff.

The athletics department is now accepting resumes and applications for the women’s varsity head coach position. According to Streiff, applicants should have high school head basketball coaching or similar high level basketball coaching experience. A bachelor’s degree is required, and a master’s degree is preferred. Streiff wrote in an email, “The ideal candidate should also embrace Cathedral’s Holy Cross core values.”

Resumes should be emailed to Streiff at [email protected] and will be accepted until March 29.

“We thank Reggen for all of her hard work and dedication to our basketball program,” Streiff wrote, “and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”

Streiff said the new varsity head coach will determine the status of the current freshman, junior varsity and varsity assistant women’s coaches.

Several players on this year’s team did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
