Men’s basketball Senior Night set for Feb. 19
Members of the Class of 2019 to be honored
As the high school basketball regular season comes to a close and the State tournament approaches, the Class of 2019 prepares for the last stretch of their final year together.
On Feb. 19, the Irish men’s basketball team will celebrate their seniors at during the Senior Night game against Metropolitan. The junior varsity game will tip off at 6 p.m. in the Welch Activity Center, and the varsity game will follow at 7:30 p.m.
Between games, the men’s basketball teams will honor senior players James Franklin, Armaan Franklin, Justin Hensley, Ross Welch and Haven Montefalco along with senior managers Jackson Nierste, Maya King and Marissa Uecker. In addition, during halftime of the varsity game, the senior band and dance team members will be recognized.
As always during the regular season, Cathedral students will get in free with their school IDs.
Third year Head Coach Mr. Jason Delaney testifies to the love that he has for this group of seniors and the job that they have done in leading the program this season. “It’s a very bittersweet night because it will be the last home game that these seniors are a part of. They have done so much to make Cathedral basketball relevant and to get people excited about it going forward. We want to celebrate all that they have done not only as players, but also the character that they have done it with,” he said.
