Blood drive scheduled for Feb. 7
Donations will be taken from 8 a.m. to. 1 p.m. in the WAC
The blood drive will take place Feb. 7 from at 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Welch Activity Center foyer.
In order to prepare to give blood, Ms. Kristine Pierce, account representative for the Indiana Blood Center, wrote in an email, “Donors should get a good night’s sleep, eat a good meal and drink plenty of fluids in preparation for their donation.”
The blood drive will allow 16 year olds with parental consent and those 17 and older to get the chance to save someone’s life; additionally, seniors are able to obtain a National Honor Society point. Pierce said, “You could help trauma victims, surgery patients, premature babies, people with anemia, cancer patients and many more.”
Giving blood does not involve a great deal of time and gives the chance for students to help others. “The entire process will take about an hour and the time to collect blood will take 10 minutes. It will give you the opportunity to be part of the life-saving network in our community,” Pierce said.
