Athletic schedule: Week of April 30

It’s a full week for Irish athletes

The varsity softball team will host West Lafayette Harrison on May 3.

The Irish kick off a new week with an exciting schedule of games. This week, lead by men’s lacrosse with the Midwest Lacrosse Challenge, baseball in the City tournament and a loaded week for softball. Once again, only the home games will are listed here, with full athletic schedules available on the Cathedral athletics website.

May 1: JV and varsity men’s volleyball competes on the Hill in the Metro tournament at 6 and 7 p.m. At 4:30 p.m., come out and watch varsity men’s golf at Maple Creek course as it takes on Hamilton Southeastern and Lawrence Central. The JV and varsity women’s tennis welcomes Park Tudor to the Hill for a 4:30 p.m. contest. Finally, men’s varsity baseball will take on Lafayette Central Catholic at Brunette Park at 6 p.m.

May 2: Men’s varsity baseball kicks off City tournament play at 5:30 p.m. The varsity softball team welcomes Shelbyville to the new field at Brunette Park while the JV team hosts Warren Central on the Hill. Both games at 5:30 p.m.

May 3:The varsity softball team is back in action, taking on West Lafayette Harrison at 5:30 p.m. JV and varsity women’s tennis takes on Bloomington North at 5:30 p.m. The men’s JV and varsity volleyball teams look to win the Metro tournament with the semifinals and finals at 6 and 7 p.m.

May 4:Varsity baseball competes in the City semifinals at 5:30 p.m. The varsity men’s lacrosse team takes on national powerhouse New Trier (Illinois) in the first round of the Midwest Lacrosse Challenge at 7:30 p.m.

May 5: Varsity baseball takes on Huntington North at Brunette Park at noon, with each senior being recognized. The women’s JV and varsity tennis squads look to defeat South Bend St. Joseph’s at 2 p.m. Men’s lacrosse looks to continue its way through the Midwest Lacrosse Challenge.
