School to host blood drive on April 17
From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., students will be able to donate
The school will host a blood drive on April 17 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Welch Activity Center lobby. Potential donors must be 17 (16-year-olds must have parental consent) and meet certain other health requirements.
Chief Officer for Student Services Dr. Tom Greer noted that the drive provides a way to remind students that there is always a need for blood, and that each donation can positively affect up to three individuals.
Greer said that at a typical blood drive on campus, about 105 students will sign up, 75 will show up and about 60 will actually donate.
