The baseball and softball teams will play their games at Brunette Park this season.

Over the last couple of months, Brunette Park has remained under construction for the addition of varsity baseball, junior varsity/freshman and softball fields.

As of March 8, both baseball diamonds are ready for practices as early as next week and for the home opener, which is scheduled for March 28 at 5:30 for the defending State champion Irish and their head coach, Mr. Ed Freije, as they take on Scecina.

However, the softball diamond is scheduled to be finished the week of March 12 due to lack of infield mix. It will be ready to be practiced on in as soon as two weeks.

Even with the additions of three fields and appropriate seating for fans, Brunette Park still has enough land to add fields as the school’s athletics department needs.

For those who have yet to be at Brunette Park, Athletics Director Mr. Doug Seagrave said, “It is a park-like oasis on the East Side. It is a very nice property and has room for further development to meet the needs of Cathedral High School.”

The facility is located at 9802 E. Little League Drive.
