The Irish athletics experience a week full of challenges as the men’s basketball team takes to the court in Coliseum Classic at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, the women’s swimming and diving team and the women’s basketball team participate in Sectional matchups and the Irish wrestlers look to defend as Regional champions, among other events.

Jan. 29: No activities scheduled.

Jan. 30: The men’s swimming and diving team travels to Perry Meridian for a meet at 6 p.m. The men’s freshman basketball team plays in the first night of a back-to-back at Northwest at 6 p.m.

Jan. 31: The men’s freshman basketball team travels to Pendleton Heights for the second night of a back-to-back at 6 p.m. The women’s basketball team takes on Heritage Christian in the first round of the Class 4A Sectional at Lawrence North at 6 p.m.

Feb. 1: The men’s basketball team plays in the Coliseum Classic at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum against Franklin Central. Game starts at 7 p.m. The women’s swimming and diving Sectional kicks off at Lawrence North at 6 p.m.

Feb. 2: If the women’s basketball team defeated Heritage Christian on Jan. 31, it will play in the next round of the Sectional at Lawrence North, with the time and opponent to be determined.

Feb. 3: The men’s freshman basketball team host the Irish Invitational at 9 a.m. The men’s JV and varsity basketball teams host Cardinal Ritter in the Champions United game. JV starts at 1 p.m. and varsity will follow and approximately 2:30. The women’s swimming and diving Sectional finals begin at 9 a.m. at Lawrence North, and the women’s basketball Sectional final at Lawrence North depends on the team’s previous success in the tournament. The Irish wrestlers look to defend as Regional champions at Pendleton Heights starting at 9:30 a.m.
