It’s another busy week for Cathedral athletics as the men’s basketball team looks to win the City championship, women’s basketball takes on a top-ranked Carmel team and the wrestlers kick off the Sectional, with all but one event taking place away from campus.

Jan. 22: The women’s freshman basketball team travels to Warren Central for a 6 p.m. game. The men’s JV and varsity teams both compete at Arsenal Tech for a City championship. JV will play Tech at 6 p.m. and the defending City champion varsity team will take on the Howe Hornets at 7:30 p.m.

Jan. 23: The men’s and women’s swimming and diving team competes in the Schools With No Pools Invitational at the IUPUI Natatorium starting at 5 p.m. The men’s freshman basketball team will play Warren Central at home at 6 p.m. The women’s JV and varsity basketball teams look to take down a ranked Carmel team in the Eric Clark Activity Center in Carmel. JV is set to start at 6 p.m. with varsity at 7:30 p.m.

Jan. 24: No activities scheduled.

Jan. 25: The men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams travel to Mount Vernon at 5:30 p.m. for a dual meet against the host school.

Jan. 26: No activities scheduled.

 Jan. 27: The women’s JV and varsity basketball teams travel to Perry Meridian to take on the Falcons at noon and 1:30 p.m. The men’s freshman and JV basketball teams head to Franklin Central to take on the Flashes at 6 and 7:30 p.m. The Irish wrestlers start their State championship run as they compete in the Sectional at Lawrence Central, which begins at 9 a.m.
