Head Coach Mrs. Reggen Melson’s women’s varsity basketball team will take on seven-time State champion Heritage Christian in the Class 4A Sectional opener on Jan. 31.

Lawrence North will host the seven-team Sectional 7, with the first game on Jan. 30 featuring North Central and Lawrence Central.

After the Irish and Heritage Christian play on Jan. 31, Warren Central will take on Lawrence North. Arsenal Tech drew the bye and will play in the Feb. 2 semifinal against the winner of the North Central-Lawerence Central game.

The Sectional championship is scheduled for Feb. 3.

The Irish played Heritage Christian during the regular season in December, losing 65-48. The teams did not meet in the City tournament, as Cathedral lost to Tindley in the semifinal round, and Heritage defeated Tindley two nights later 60-50 in the City championship game.
