Irish athletes during the week of Oct. 9 will compete in IHSAA tournament action in four sports as the football team plays its Senior Night game.

Women’s volleyball: Sectional competition gets underway Oct. 12 at Lawrence North, with the team taking on Arsenal Tech at 6 p.m. If the team wins, it will play in the Sectional semifinal on Oct. 14 at 10 a.m., with the Sectional championship that evening at 7.

Men’s cross-country: The Sectional champion team, lead by junior Cole Hocker, competes in the Regional on Oct. 14 at 10:30 a.m. at White River Elementary School in Noblesville.

Women’s cross-country: The Irish also compete in the Regional at 11:15 a.m. on Oct. 14 at White River Elementary School.

Men’s soccer: Head Coach Mr. Whitey Kapsalis’s Sectional champion team will play Greenfield-Central at noon on Oct. 14 in the first round of the Regional. The match takes place at Murray Stadium on the Carmel High School grounds. If the Irish win, they will play the winner of the Ben Davis-North Central match for the Regional championship that evening at 7.

In regular season action, Head Coach Mr. Rick Strieff’s football team celebrates Senior Night on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m., hosting Center Grove at Tech. The JV team hosts Center Grove the next morning at 10.
