Fall play, children’s show auditions scheduled

Prepare a one-minute monologue, director says

Actors took the stage during last year’s fall play. Auditions for this year’s fall play and children’s show have been scheduled.

The theatre department has scheduled auditions for two shows that will take place this fall, according to performing arts teacher Ms. Jen Alexander.

Those auditions will take place Aug. 21, Aug. 22 and Aug. 23 after school are open only to sophomores, juniors and seniors. Participants should prepare a one-minute contemporary monologue from a published play, and monologues must be memorized.

The directors also may ask those who are auditioning to read from a script.

Rehearsals for the children’s show, “After the Rain King,” with seniors Olivia Pletcher and Lillian Moffatt serving as directors, will begin Aug. 28. Rehearsals for the fall play, “The Rose and the Rime,” which Alexander will direct, begin in October.
