The seniors from the class of 2024 came together one final time as a class, along with the entire student body for the ‘Senior Mass’. As they sit in the WAC and take in these final moments they begin to reflect on their many memories of their journey through high school and how it went by so fast and before they knew it, they are now the next ones to graduate.
Campus Minister Mr Dave Neeson said, “Senior Mass is the last opportunity for the entire student body to gather in prayer and have an award ceremony to honor seniors.” This Mass is also important for closure and to say goodbye because not everyone is able to attend the Baccalaureate Mass. This Mass will mainly be the last time seniors attend an all school Mass with the student body and the last time to see them all together as a class.
This moment is bittersweet as everyone is very proud of everything all these students have accomplished. However they are also very sad to see our seniors go after this final time these classes are all gathered together as a cathedral family for church. They have grown so much in the four years they have been on the hill giving everyone so much to be proud of.
Parents have also been invited for this special day to help celebrate their children. Senior parent and educator Mr. Craig Blanchet said, “I am so proud of the personal and academic growth of the senior students, and my senior son. I will miss them next year.”
After the Mass there will be a moment for students who have excelled and gone above and beyond to be recognized with awards for their hard work. This could be for their athletics, academics, and character.
Senior Sam Snyder said, “I am excited for one last all school Mass with all my classmates, they are so awesome. I am also excited to see my classmate get awards.”
All good things must come to an end so we gather and celebrate these seniors as well as pray that God helps guide them and continues to keep their futures bright.
