Hockey team to play for State title
Knights to battle South Bend St. Joe
The Central Indiana Knights hockey team, which includes six student athletes from Cathedral, will play South Bend St. Joseph March 11 at 4 p.m. for the State title.
Senior David Bedich, who serves as the team’s captain, said, “I feel confident heading into the State championship. We are playing our best hockey right now, and I believe we will continue it into the State championship.”
The Central Indiana Knights defeated Westfield 5-3, Lake Central 5-4 and Hamilton Southeastern 4-1 in their tournament pool to advance to the championship. Bedich said, “Our team had come together and finished these two games while putting everything on the line.”
Westfield and Lake Central had defeated the Knights during the regular season, so team avenged those losses in the tourney.
