The 2023-24 school year is here and in true Cathedral fashion the traditions must go on. Beginning with he welcome assembly. New teachers and freshmen are put on the spot to dance in front of everyone, the band and the dance team perform, and ,of course, the leprechauns come out and show everyone what they are looking for this school year in school spirit.
The first welcome assembly for the dance team was a success. Dance Team captain Taria Hollifield said “We killed it today. That was a first experience for a lot of them and they were really excited.”
“I think I ate,” exclaimed dance team member senior Jackson Maples. “It was a good experience except for the freshman dance. I am sure they hated that it was pretty embarrassing.” Cheer team members, Junior Natalie Sukurs and Senior Mallory Lotti said “We are doing the battle cry and fight song”
Student innovation team member, Mr. Ed Freije said, “It is our first time all together in the gym at one time where we can be together as a school, welcome the freshmen, and seniors can kick off their year. Everyone takes their new spots in the gym. We try to do some fun things with the freshmen dance and new teacher dance and just welcome everybody.”
