Unified Media Center Meeting
Join fellow students in the Media Center on May 12 for donuts and a chance to discuss this year and next
All current students in newspaper, yearbook or broadcasting are invited for a brief informational meeting in the Unified Media Center on May 12 at 7:40 a.m. and is expected to last around 15 minutes.
This school year was the first year to have the new Unified Media Center implemented. The goal of this has been to continue to allow students to collaborate for the variety of news publications on the ill.
Newspaper Moderator Mr. Marc Quaranta sent an email to current students. He wrote, “We would love to get the entire Unified Media program together – Journalism, Broadcasting, Newspaper, Yearbook – all in one room to discuss how the year went, your thoughts on the space, and what we can do next year to better collaborate – aka be more creative, create more original content, all the while making it easier because everyone will be helping everyone else out!”
This meeting is for current students or students who are in a class next year. He wrote, “Megaphone reporters will be able to share stories with broadcast students so that we can publish both a written article and a follow up video story as well. Yearbook students will take pictures for the Megaphone to be included in feature stories, but also to be posted as stand alone photojournalism projects.”
While a variety of changes have already been made in the Media Center, more are to come. Those interested or have questions can email [email protected].
If you are not currently in one of the Unified Media classes but are interested in signing up for a class, signing up for a zero period, or joining as an extra curricular activity, look for an email from Mr. Quaranta next week.
