Lady Irish Soccer moved into 3A this year and look to win it all. The team motto this year is “all in” which shows how the girls are putting in all of their effort into the State Tournament, hoping to come out on top.

The girls took a tough loss last year in Regionals to Brebeuf, but they are looking forward to getting another chance to make it to State. The Irish have had many struggles this season, with multiple injuries among the team. Senior Anna Spellacy, junior Katherine McCauley, sophomores Rosie Martin, and Abby Beasley. The Lady Irish Soccer team has already played in this year’s City Tournament against Covenant Christian and Chatard. After a strenuous loss to Chatard for the City Title, The Lady Irish look to bounce back, and start the Sectionals Tournament with a positive attitude.

Sophomore Rosie Martin said, “We have a good chance if we put all of our efforts in and play for each other. We have worked hard all season to get to this moment and want to leave it all on the field . We have been looking forward to these upcoming games since the start of the season and will put everything into winning these games.”

So far the Irish are 8-4-4 in the regular season. Now that they will begin the tournament any game could be their last. There will be 3 rounds of sectionals, and Tuesday they face off against Warren Central, at Warren, Thursday and Saturday’s opponents are to be determined. To get to state, the girls have to go through not only 3 rounds of sectionals, but also 2 rounds of regionals, semi state, and finally state. In the past the girls soccer team has won 3 state championships, and are ready to make it a fourth.
