Photo gallery: Archbishop celebrates Mass on the Hill
Event during Lent provides focus as Easter approaches
On March 22 in the Welch Activity Center, students, faculty and staff gathered to celebrate Mass and the Feast Day of St. Joseph. Archbishop Charles Thompson served as the celebrant for the Mass, which included the choir. Archbishop Thompson’s homily included references to moments of crisis and how believers may use those moments to increase and deepen their faith. The Mass began with President Dr. Robert Bridges mentioned several recent accomplishments, including national speech and debate qualifiers, show choir awards and the men’s basketball team getting ready to play in the Class 4A State championship game on March 26 against Chesterton. The Mass ended with the traditional Irish blessing for the Archbishop and several other guests.
