Driver education sign ups open Feb. 23
Number of spots for summer class is capped at 35
Sign ups for the next summer driver education class will open Feb. 23, said instructor Mr. Dustin Land, and will close when all the available openings are filled.
“There will be a link on the school website,” Land said about the process for signing up.
Certain requirements must be met for students to enroll. “They need to be 15 by July 13 in order to drive with us this summer. Students will complete their online course before behind-the-wheel training and also pass their written permit test,” Land said.
When a student meets the requirements, they are free to sign up but there are limited spots available. “In the past we have had up to 70 students with two driver instructors. This year we will only have one instructor, so spots are limited to 35,” said Land.
Training will include 30 hours of classroom instruction relating to the rules and regulations of operating a motor vehicle and six hours of actual driving.
