School celebrates Mass and Blessed Basil Moreau

To help keep students safe, two locations are used

The school celebrated Mass in two different locations on campus on Jan. 20.

On one of the most important historical dates for Cathedral High School, the entire student body, faculty and staff gathered on Jan. 20 from 10:05 to 11:15 a.m. to celebrate Mass on the Feast Day of Blessed Basil Moreau, the founder of Holy Cross.

Cathedral is the only Holy Cross-affiliated high school in Indiana.

Due to Covid concerns and to ensure a safe environment, two Masses took place at the same time. The freshmen, with every other seat between them empty, attended Mass in the auditorium. The sophomores, juniors and seniors went to the Welch Activity Center, with the seniors seated on the floor, the juniors on one side of the gym floor and the sophomores in the bleachers on the opposite side.

Not being envious or jealous of what others around us have was one of the messages that was conveyed during the Jan. 20 Mass.
