School gathers to recognize Veterans Day
Graduate returns to the Hill to share his story of service
On Nov. 12, one day after the official recognition of Veterans Day due to the Day 3 activity schedule, students, faculty and staff gathered in the Welch Activity Center to honor those individuals who have served their country and protected our Constitutional freedoms.
The assembly consisted of a performance by the Pride of Irish marching band, a presentation from the Civil Air Patrol and a speech from Lt. Col. Scott Taylor ’90 discussing the importance of Veterans Day and how all people can honor those who are serving the United States and those who have served in the past.
At the end of the gathering, students and teachers extended their arms to give an Irish blessing to all of the veterans and visitors in attendance.
