At 11:08 p.m. on Nov. 5, WISH-TV sports director Mr. Anthony Calhoun is expected to announce the final four schools that remain in competition for The Zone banner, which is presented to the high school with the most fired up student section at football games.
The schools in the running are Cathedral, Mooresville, Noblesville, Hamilton Southeastern, Bishop Chatard, Brownsburg, Guerin Catholic and Westfield.
To provide incentive for his school to be among the final four, senior and leprechaun Will Mayer delivered a signed banner to Calhoun on Nov. 3. Mayer said, “AC was completely speechless and in shock. No one has ever hand delivered him a banner before.”
Calhoun is expected to cover the Cathedral-Decatur Central Class 5A Sectional championship game on Nov. 5. Mayer said, “Make sure to show up and show out.”
