Hiking Club members plan their next outing
Group will gather on Nov. 11 at Skiles Test Park
The Hiking Club, under the direction of faculty moderator Mrs. Katie Lewis, has its next event scheduled for Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. at Skiles Test Nature Park.
Lewis suggests that if you are interested, simply email her for more information. Hikes are usually two to three miles at. nearby location such as Fort Ben or on campus, Lewis said. As colder weather approaches, Lewis noted, “(There is) no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing.”
About 15 students come out for each hike. The club continues to grow and evolve. Not only will a hiking course be offered for J-Term, Lewis said she has hopes for a hiking or camping trip in the spring.
One of the club members, junior Meg Hasch, said, “There’s just something about hiking in nature, putting technology away and just talking to those around you about anything and everything.”
