Fall sports update: Women’s volleyball
Highlights: The women’s volleyball team is 12-7 as of Sept. 16, with key wins over Westfield, Lawrence North and Bishop Chatard. The team lost a tight matchup to Hamilton Southeastern, which is nationally ranked, on Sept. 11.
Upcoming: Key upcoming matchups include a face off with nationally ranked Yorktown at 7 p.m. on Sept. 23 in the WAC and a Senior Night matchup against Carmel at Cathedral at 7 p.m. on Sept. 28.
Team goals: According to Head Coach Mrs. Mary Hemer ‘09, “The team has set several performance goals. These are statistical goals based on our serve receive pass rating, hitting efficiency percentage and holding our opponents to below a specific pass rating. The team has also discussed and set goals on beating specific opponents this season, which we have accomplished against Westfield, Brownsburg, Bishop Chatard and Center Grove.”
From Coach Hemer: “Our team loves to compete and aren’t scared of going against big time opponents, which is awesome. This team’s competitiveness and drive to win, as well as their ability to be goofy and enjoy each other off the court, is truly something special.”
