Hope selected as next year’s Holy Cross value
Result of the Class of 2022’s vote is announced
Each year the Junior Class votes on the coming year’s Holy Cross value for the school to put into practice. After a year filled with darkness in many lives, the Class of 2022 voted for the Holy Cross value of hope.
Hope edged out family by 0.9% of the vote, earning a total of 31.7% of the ballots cast. The options for the 2021-22 school year along with hope included family, integrity and diversity. A little less than half of the juniors cast a vote in the online poll.
Miss Ashley Hill, director of Holy Cross integration, coordinated the vote. She shared her thoughts on the selection, saying, “I think it means that we spend our time next year bringing hope to others, both in our small daily actions towards each other on campus and how we support the greater Indianapolis area through service learning.”
Along with the campus ministry, Hill said, “Our students in the liturgy team and the Holy Cross student leadership team will drive how we celebrate hope next year.”
Hill said, “(During the) 2021-22 school year we will focus on how we can be a beacon of hope for others in our community.”
