We the People team wins State

Baisinger’s group qualifies for national competition in April

After winning the State competition at Union Station in Downtown Indianapolis on Dec. 11 and Dec. 12, the We the People team now qualifies for the national competition, which will take place in April 21-24 in Washington, DC.

Social studies teacher Ms. Jill Baisinger coaches the team, with assistance from social studies teachers Mr. Craig Blanchet and Mr. Ryan Davis ’06.

While the team did not finish in the top three last year, this year’s squad bounced back to capture the State title this year.

In Washington, the first two rounds of the national competition will take place at the National Conference Center. The finals, which involve the top 10 schools, are in Senate Committee Hearing Room in the Capitol.

We the People is an academic competition sponsored by the Indiana Bar Foundation.
