The speed bumps on the Hill are typically replaced every year.

Students leaving and entering the school are greeted each drive with the beautiful scenery of the Hill as well as new speed bumps. Vice President for Operations Mr. Jim McLinn ‘70 said, “The speed bumps are replaced on an ‘as need’ basis, depending on the damage during the winter snow plowing and removal process. This is usually on an annual basis.”

The size of speed bumps are determined by a traffic safety and speed control formula, McLinn said.

Currently, the speed bumps on the Hill are set so cars must drive between 10 to 20 miles for hour traffic safety.
